Here’s information on your child’s OHIP covered eye exam, care guidelines, and more:

 

• The Ontario College of Optometrists recommends that children have their first eye exam between
  6 to 9 months of age. Early eye care is crucial as untreated issues can lead to lifelong vision difficulties. By detecting and addressing potential problems early through a pediatric eye test, we can prevent minor issues from progressing into more challenging and harder-to-treat conditions.
   

• Children between the ages of 0 and 19 are eligible for one pediatric comprehensive eye exam per year through OHIP.
