This is why we have Ophthalmology, Optometry and Optical all under one roof. From eye disease treatment, regular eye exams, to finding your perfect eyewear, we are here to help.
Excellence in Eye Care Since 1989.
Our practice was established in 1989 as part of a large group practice. For more than 30 years, we have been providing excellent eyecare services to the Oshawa community. In 1997, optometrist Dr. Andrew Mah became owner of this Oshawa branch. He has a vision to provide a one-stop eyecare service for patients. Dr. Mah has since then expanded the practice to include Ophthalmology, Optometry and Optical practice all under one roof, making it a well-known location for eyecare services in Oshawa. In 2022, Dr. Andrew Mah and Optician Su-Chen Mah selected the perfect person who will continue the legacy that they have worked so hard to build. They passed the torch to optometrist Dr. Jane Yang, who is passionate and knowledgeable in providing eyecare to patients.
Dr. Jane Yang, OD, MSc
Dr. Jane Yang OD, MSc is a dedicated optometrist committed to making a positive impact in the community. She received her Honours Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Toronto and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Yang also holds a Master of Vision Sciences degree, specializing in myopia management.
Committed to giving back, Dr. Yang actively participates in mission trips, providing eye exams, treatment, and management of eye disease to communities in need. In addition, she volunteers her time at senior homes, offering support to the elderly. She’s an active mentor to students, guiding them in their optometry education and career paths, and collaborates with the NECO alumni association to strengthen professional networks.
Passionate about specialty contact lenses, myopia control, and practicing evidence-based medicine, Dr. Yang strives to provide her patients with the highest quality of care. She believes in delivering outstanding patient care and education through effective communication and the latest research.
During her leisure time, Dr. Yang enjoys baking, exploring nature through hiking, and spending moments with her three cats. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin and welcomes new patients with open arms.

Dr. Maurice Bissada, MD, FRCSC
​
After graduating from the Cairo University Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Bissada completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Montreal Faculty of Medicine in Quebec.
​
He subsequently joined the ophthalmology staff at Jean Talon and Fleury hospitals in Montreal and was named ophthalmologist-in-chief two years later. He was instrumental in recruiting and overseeing the development of a world class ophthalmology section in the surgical department of these hospitals. During this time, he coordinated the implementation of the latest cataract surgery techniques including small-incision surgery with foldable intra-ocular lens implants that is still used today. After 27 years, he moved to Ontario for family reasons and joined an ophthalmology practice in Oshawa. In 2020, Dr. Bissada joined the ophthalmology department of our practice.

Dr. Bissada has extensive experience in Comprehensive Ophthalmology and prides himself in the uncompromised care he provides to all his patients.
​
He enjoys playing tennis and golf 3-4 times a week when the weather permits.
Dr. Jason K. Dorfman, MD, FRCS(C), DABO
Dr. Jason Dorfman completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, Ophthalmology specialization at The University at Buffalo, SUNY and Glaucoma Fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Upon graduation, he joined a group ophthalmology practice in the Bay area of California practicing comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology, including a specialty in laser refractive surgery (LASIK), before returning to Toronto to practice in association with ophthalmologists Drs. Martin and Jerome Kazdan and Dr. Monir Tadros. In 2012, Dr. Dorfman assumed the position of Medical Director, Ophthalmology at our practice.

Dr. Dorfman has extensive experience in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, with a particular interest in glaucoma, pterygium surgery and laser eye surgery.
​
Dr. Dorfman enjoys time at his home up on Lake Simcoe and attending to his children’s menagerie at his home in Toronto.

Tasha DiZazzo is a registered optician who has enjoyed helping her patients find their favorite pair of glasses for over 12 years. She is always available to adjust the fit of your eyewear to keep you looking and seeing your best!
